Pay what you want
All of the writing on A Working Library is free and available to all readers, and it will stay that way forever. I understand why some publications and writers choose to have paywalls, but I remain averse to them, for the simple reason that writing and knowledge-making are too important to the human condition to be reserved for those who can pay. The best libraries have no locks on the doors and turn no one away.
That said, paid subscribers do help me reserve time and attention for the work I am doing here. For those of you who are able to lend some support, you have my intense gratitude.
As with my services elsewhere, all pricing is on a sliding scale: the suggested rate is $50/year, or less than the price of one used paperback a month. But you can pay more, or less, according to your means or desires. If you greatly love my work and want very much to see more of it, you can also join as a sustainer for $250/year (or more) and make it that much more possible for me to pursue longer, more demanding projects.
