The Blue Place

Aud Torvingen is a Norwegian living in Atlanta, a former cop moonlighting as security, an expert in several forms of martial arts, and six feet tall. Out late one evening, she collides with a woman running the other way. Moments later, a house behind her explodes—and the woman is gone. Griffith borrows the noir suspense novel but reshapes it to fit the rangy, fluid muscles of a woman who learned early that protecting yourself means hurting other people. I’ve never been able to start one of her books and put it down unfinished, and I’ve never wanted to.
